  1. HI I just found your blog. And was wondering if your farm is near Goodman WI, this is where my Grandma on my daddy's side grew up, the name is Peterson and before that Lumberg. The Lumbergs came from Sweden to work in the logging camps. We live on the other side of the lake now but there is still extended family over there and we sometimes go and visit, I have not been to Goodman in a long time the last was in 1996. Where I live in Manistee county is what I would say is the start of the north woods in MI it is more southern then Iron county, but we have lots of ravens, bears, wild blueberries, black and red raspberries, blackberries, endless high hills and swamps, and all that good old northern stuff ,not to mention the twisty two tracks!
    Great Blog!

  2. Good stuff is right! If the Lumbergs worked at Nelson's Camp One and rode the Roddis Line, then they were on this property with lots of other loggers. Goodman is SE of us, but Highway 8 is not far. You can reach us from either Highway 51 North to Mercer and then West on County FF, or Highway 13 North to Butternut and then East on County F. We are about the same distance from either highway. Hey, I'll take all the varmints and berries any time over living in the city. It's a small world, isn't it!
